Measurement and History

The Measurement and History project is concerned with the history of measurements, especially of inequality, and with the uses of these measurements in different historical periods. It has two components, a project on The Measure of Inequality, supported by the Philomathia Foundation's Social Sciences Research Programme and a network on Inequality and History. The network was created in 2012 as the Inequality, Social Science and History Research Network and supported for its first two years with a grant from the Arts & Humanities Research Council. Its work is currently supported by the Centre for History & Economics and by the Philomathia Foundation.

The project is coordinated by Pedro Ramos Pinto and Poornima Paidipaty.
