Introduction
This is the first in a series of meetings on the historical experience of economic crisis in relation to public health and health systems. The meetings are in connection with a new Joint Centre for History and Economics project on Economic Crises and Health in Historical Perspective.
This meeting will explore health system responses to economic crisis, and it will comprise of three sessions on the topics of public health and histories of economic crisis, public health research and crisis, and public health professionals and crisis.
