The Graduate Workshop is a one-day workshop organised by and for graduate students interested in the political economy of empires. After selecting the graduate participants, each participant will be asked to submit a substantial piece of writing by 15 October 2006 (5000 words) to be pre-circulated among all participants and specially invited senior scholars.
On the day of the Graduate Workshop, an opening lecture will be given by a senior scholar followed by a panel-session in the morning, and two panel-sessions in the afternoon, leaving room for approximately 9 graduate papers. Each participant is asked to speak for 30 minutes. Senior scholars will be chairing the panels and lead general discussion.
Depending on the success of the workshop, the organisers plan to publish the workshop papers as a special issue of a journal.
