Identities in Europe: Historical Reflection through Interlocution

8-9 November 2006
University of London in Paris

On 8-9 November 2006, scholars from the Arts Faculty at Queen Mary, University of London, under the auspices of the History Department, took part in an event marking the re-launch of the University of London Institute in Paris (ULIP).

A Consortium between the Institute, Queen Mary and Royal Holloway has been created, and the event History in Conversation - Identities in Europe, forms part of the launch of this exciting intellectual adventure. ULIP aims to become a centre for exploration of the European heritage through contemporary questions.

History in Conversation - Identities in Europe is organised by Professor Miri Rubin (History) who has matched scholars from Queen Mary with Paris counterparts in discussion of areas of European identity: the European body, European political traditions, and Europe's boundaries.
